Privacy Policy

First Sight is designed to minimize stored personal information. Profiles, biographies, photos, and Nearby Chat messages are kept on users’ phones and pass between two nearby devices through a temporary encrypted relay. The relay holds encrypted data only in memory and does not save its contents.

Information stored on your iPhone

• Your first name, birthdate, gender, biography, approach preference, age range, and profile photos.
• Temporary nearby messages, which are deleted when either person ends the conversation.
• An authentication credential used to connect securely to First Sight.

Information processed by the server

• A pseudonymous account identifier derived from Sign in with Apple and an encrypted Apple refresh token used for account deletion.
• Device push tokens used to deliver notifications.
• Timed availability sessions, approximate Bluetooth proximity confirmations, mutual interests, matches, blocks, and selected report categories.
• Promotional and purchased credit balances and transaction records needed to prevent duplicate purchases and maintain financial integrity.

The server does not request precise location and does not store profile photos, biography text, or chat contents. First Sight does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Why information is used

Information is used to authenticate adults, operate nearby discovery, enforce compatibility and blocks, deliver notifications, confirm mutual matches, maintain credits, investigate safety reports, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account inside the app from the top-right account menu. Deletion ends active sessions, invalidates authentication, removes device tokens and remaining credits, disconnects the Apple identifier, and removes the locally saved profile and photos. Narrow anonymous records may remain where needed for completed transactions, fraud prevention, safety reports, or legal compliance.

Security and age

Network traffic uses TLS. Profile and chat relays are encrypted between devices. Apple refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. First Sight is only for adults age 18 or older.

Your choices

You choose when to become available and may end a session, pass, end chat, block, report, or delete your account at any time. Notification and Bluetooth permissions can be changed in iPhone Settings.
